St Paul's, opposite the Post Office, is a real treasure trove of history and enjoyment that should be explored. It was originally opened in 1812 as a Chapel and was relaunched in 2010 as a community centre. It has gone from strength to strength to become a vibrant community hub in the heart of Worthing.
However, just like any building, business or home, it costs money to run, so with the help of the local Energy Switching and Energy Efficiency Service run by Transition Town Worthing, not only is the building going through an energy efficiency transformation, it should save St Paul’s thousands of pounds in running costs in the years to come.
We want to offer you that service too, so come and chat about how to save energy - all you will need is your energy bill and your questions. The service is completely free and impartial, so if you are one of the 66% of the population who has never switched your energy bill, or you just want advice, come along and let us help you save money and energy at the same time. Funding is also available for both businesses and homes.
For example, in Worthing over recent months, the energy team has saved customers a collective £5000. One customer was able to save over £700 which equates to 211 pints of beer, or over 300 LED bulbs! Another customer ended up with the smallest bill ever of just £167…
What have you got to lose? Come and see St Paul's plans for their upgrade, have a chat about energy saving and grab a drink and something to eat at the same time, it’s a great community café! See https://stpaulsworthing.co.uk/ for more details.
